All brands of water ionizers come with an activated carbon filter inside, which addresses odor, taste, and chemicals like chlorine and chloramines, much like a Brita® or PUR® filter and some even come with a second filter to remove sediments. However, in order to get optimal filtration, one must also install a drinking water pre-filter and either a shower filter in every bath or whole house filtration system.
